Your Backyard, All Four Seasons

Most backyards get about 90 good days a year. Yours could get 365.

Think about the moments you keep postponing "until summer": the birthday dinner outside, the Sunday morning coffee, the late-night talks with friends. A Hansø pergola stops the waiting.

Adjustable louvers let you chase the sun or shut out the rain. The structure is built from T6 aerospace-grade aluminum and engineered for up to 167 mph winds and up to 65 PSF snow load, so it's still standing strong when the weather isn't.

Early Bird Offers LAST CHANCE: save up to 40% on pergolas, plus a $1,000 installation voucher*, a Free Hansø ProCheck Care™ 10-Year Plan worth $950, and some FREE accessories to keep fall and winter evenings cozy.

Most pergolas are just for summer. Yours is for every season.

Big Creek Greenway

Fowler Park Trailhead Closes for Greenway Renovations

If you regularly use the Big Creek Greenway, you may need to find a new starting point for your next walk or bike ride. Forsyth County closed the Fowler Park trailhead on October 26 as crews began replacing its aging wooden boardwalk with PermaTrak, a system of precast concrete boards designed for greater durability. The trailhead is expected to remain closed through the end of 2026 while construction continues. The project will also affect a nearby stretch of the Greenway between Atlanta Highway (SR 9) and south of Fowler Park, roughly mile markers 4.5 to 5.5. This section will experience intermittent weekday closures as crews transport equipment and materials. However, the county says the affected trail section will reopen by Friday evenings for weekend use, with closures resuming Monday mornings as needed. The improvements are part of Forsyth County's ongoing effort to renovate and extend the life of its popular trail system.

World Market Store

World Market Sets November 13 Grand Opening in Cumming

Cumming shoppers will soon have another destination for home décor, furniture, and international foods. World Market has scheduled a grand opening celebration for Friday, November 13, at its new location at 2265 Market Place Boulevard, according to the Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce's event calendar. Known for its globally inspired merchandise, World Market offers everything from furniture, rugs, and decorative accessories to specialty snacks, chocolates, and foods from around the world. The retailer's Cumming location is already listed on its official website, making it a new addition to the Market Place Boulevard shopping corridor. The grand opening comes just ahead of the holiday shopping season, giving residents another option for gifts, seasonal decorations, and entertaining essentials. While the November 13 celebration is confirmed on the Chamber's calendar, the retailer has not publicly specified whether that date will also mark its first day of regular shopping.

Forsyth Considers Extending Restrictions on Older Developments

Forsyth County commissioners will hold a public hearing Thursday, November 5, to consider extending a temporary moratorium affecting certain residential properties approved for development years ago. The proposed extension would prevent the county from accepting new sketch plat and land disturbance permit applications for affected properties through May 4, 2027. The restrictions specifically target residentially zoned land that was rezoned before April 13, 2017, but never fully developed. County officials want additional time to review these older approvals and determine whether they still align with Forsyth County's current comprehensive plan and long-term growth priorities. The proposal could affect developers seeking to move forward with previously approved residential projects, although it does not apply to every residential development in the county. Commissioners have not yet approved the extension. The public hearing is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Forsyth County Administration Building, 110 East Main Street in Cumming.
